Practical Minds And The Woo Woo

By Dee Scown

April 27, 2019

I found myself caught between 2 worlds, an intellectual family with logic the strongest theme, and a mind or soul perhaps that saw and heard things that “were not there” according to others.

As a child, that meant many put downs with “don’t be stupid Dorothy” and slowly I closed down and my personality and self-belief diminished until there was little left.

Growing up with that sent me searching for acceptance and love in all the wrong ways, places, and on the perceived logical plane only.

Logic is of course limited to what our formal education and beliefs are, and I felt the need to grasp this logic tightly with both hands if I were to be wanted or cared for in any way. When the wheels fell off in life in catastrophic ways, my heart would search for more, it came in the form of Christianity first.

While I felt the positive surge of spirit, it did not feed me as I had hoped and when with family I was met with taunts of “she’s a wowser” (as I was not drinking alcohol) and “she’s a bible basher” I should point out that I was raised Anglican but had joined a different church.

I have in more recent years embraced the “woo woo” but it has with it a good dose of the logic.

Studying physics in 2011 and 2012 opened my mind to the realms that we do not see. The understandings and lack of understandings we have about energy, electromagnetics, light and the possibility that there is more in the world that we do not know and we do.

Taking an interest in physicists and reading more on what they are excited about and following their changing beliefs freed me to look back at my personal experiences. Reviewing those and digging up my own deep levels of perception opened doors that would blow my mind.

Personal development books have always kept me going and reading The Secret and similar books instilled more curiosity, to dig further and tune into that “woo woo” that many are talking about, but I found many things were still a little out there for my mind.

Then I came across Suzanne Leonard, a beautiful woman who has both these worlds firmly in her grasp, with a mind and education in sciences and a spiritual connection that is balanced and not airy fairy.

Suzanne unlocked the next level of my research, but also my life. Through her I saw things that I had hidden from myself and was able to turn to a more fulfilling future.

Why am I telling you this? Because I believe we straddle levels of discovery, but many take it too far in one or another direction. There are many levels of physics and science that we are yet to “discover”.

If you are in the Logic camp, don’t close off the possibilities, there is so much we did not know and now do, nothing has changed in that, if you are not ready to embrace the metaphysical that is out there, that is okay but don’t rain on the parades of those who do.

If you are in “woo woo” land and are totally focused on being what I will refer to as a fantasy character and living in a fantasy world then perhaps be careful how you present that to others, choose your audience.

The thing is, we are all right and wrong at the same time, this is not a competition, we are in different races at different times and places.

Accept that others have a different perception, and your beliefs are right for you in this moment, just as theirs are for them, equally we all need to be prepared to grow and change.

Luv, D.
